Romance on the Ranch: A Real Life Wedding at Blame Her Ranch

Nestled snugly between scenic, rocky cliffs and lush forest, Josey and Jorge’s vibrant wedding celebration lasted for an entire weekend. With their dearest friends and family, and the charming Blame Her Ranch’s countless amenities at their disposal, the bride and groom’s special day was honoured beneath the clear New Mexico sky. “The entire day was incredibly special, and we loved every moment of it,” the bride gushes. “The venue is really flexible, and lets you have everything exactly how you want it. We couldn't have wished for a better location to hold our wedding!”

Blooming sunflowers and classy red roses stood out against the rural backdrop of the ranch’s location - the stunning array of colour bringing a mix of stylish and playful personality to the forefront of the day. The bride stunned in her dream dress from Darlene’s Bridal Elegance in Albuquerque - an amusing story behind its discovery, including trying on over thirty other dresses, and a fortunately-timed decision of the store to discontinue the style, landing it luckily in Josey’s price range. Jorge was dapper and classy in his black-tie tuxedo from Suits Unlimited (also in Albuquerque), which he felt needed an additional splash of fun added… “He added Super Mario cufflinks!” The bride laughs.

Little did this special couple know, a dance they had choreographed together years prior became the foundation of the first dance at their wedding. “We hadn’t danced as much in recent years because of COVID,” recalls the bride, “but Jorge and I have been dancing bachata, salsa, and country swing together for over 4 years. Finally being able to practice and dance together again was one of my favourite parts of the wedding.”

From using Forever and Always from the Swan Princess for the bridal procession (the bride’s favourite film when she was little), to her brother’s partner accompanying the DJ with her violin, to the groom and groomsmen being able to get ready in the ranch’s epic games room: the couple’s wedding was filled with touching, memory-making moments that made the day even more special. Following their wedding, the couple whisked themselves away to Maui for their summer honeymoon, and are planning on Acadia National Park for the autumn, Germany over Christmas, and Japan for the following Spring. “We plan to treat the rest of our lives together as a permanent honeymoon!”
